How does levitation work?
💡 Inside the wooden base there are two things: a set of electromagnets and a magnetic induction charger.
💡 When you lower the bulb onto the block, the outermost electromagnets serve to attract the base of the bulb while the internal magnets create a repulsive force. This is what holds the bulb in place and makes it hover a few inches above the block.
💡 Now , once within range of the bulb base, the receiver is able to draw power from the charger block via magnetic induction.

Turn on Icarus by simply touching the button on the wooden base. The light will turn on or off without affecting levitation.
How to make it levitate?
Floating the bulb for the first time will take a lot of patience and practice at first. If this is your first time using magnetic levitation products, you may have to try a few times before you succeed. However, once successful, it gets easier and easier!

Place the base on a flat, non-ferrous surface and turn on the power by connecting the cable to the base and plugging the adapter into the outlet.

Hold the bulb with both hands. Start in the center and 10cm above the base and slowly work your way down until you are about 2cm above the base. You will feel an upward force of repulsion.

When you feel the bulb is almost balanced in mid-air (not falling or being pushed up), slowly loosen your grip. If the bulb ends up getting sucked into the base, take the bulb and start over from step 2.
